About Wanderscot

Hi, I’m Brooke —I’m from the northeast of Scotland and I’ve spent most of my life exploring this incredible country, bit by bit. I started Wanderscot to share some of the magic I’ve found along the way — the places everyone talks about and those hardly anyone does.

I cover a bit of everything — from beaches and castles to caves, mines, and even the odd bit of urban exploring. If it’s wild, hidden, or has a story behind it, I’m there. I’ve always been drawn to water too, whether it’s the sea, rivers, lochs, or waterfalls. You’ll usually find me somewhere near it.

I’m also a bit of a history and nature nerd —I’ve studied animal care, wildlife, geology, history, archaeology, and music (because let’s be honest, life without music wouldn’t be worth it). So don’t be surprised if you find the odd bit of local lore or a random fact thrown into my posts.

One wee personal touch: I always carry my late granddad’s old whisky flask — the one he used to take hiking up the Munros. I give him a wee toast at the top of every hill I climb. It keeps me grounded and reminds me why I started doing all this in the first place.

So if you’re up for discovering Scotland’s wilder side — and don’t mind a few muddy boots and misty views along the way —you’re in the right place.

Let’s wander.
